Launch of brand new website for carer support charity

Tellonline is delighted to announce the new website launch for our charity partner, VOCAL.

The aim of the project was to design and build a clear and easy to use events booking website to enable unpaid carers to easily find and book free events and activities provided to support and empower them.

Tellonline's solution was to build a Wordpress site with a customised theme and tailored plug-ins to provide a straightforward booking experience for users, whilst also making it easy for administrators to manage and upload events.

Features of the site include:
  • Event search function which filters event by category, date, location and keyword
  • Map view to enable users to see events closest to them
  • Simple booking system with sign up functionality, allowing users to book for multiple events without repeated entry of details
  • An easy to use content management system for web administrators
VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian) is a support organisation run by carers for carers in Edinburgh and Midlothian. VOCAL’s carer support teams work with unpaid carers to help identify any issues affecting them, and provide a plan of support. VOCAL delivers services through two carer centres and staff based in the community.

VOCAL were a successful recipient of the annual Tellonline Digital Development Fund, in which Tellonline match funds charity and non-profit digital projects, delivering a more significant investment in the organisation’s digital capabilities.

‘VOCAL were delighted to receive support from the Tellonline Digital Development Fund to develop our carer events website. The huge improvements to the website mean that carers can easily access training and social opportunities which make a big difference to their confidence, health and economic situation. Our thanks to everyone at Tellonline for their work on this project.’
